Elimination Pick List Conjoint

When we use simple rating scales to ask people what they like, they might say the best of everything. When we ask them what they are willing to spend, they might say as little as possible. To understand buyer preferences and decision making, we need something more than simple rating scales. We use conjoint and trade-off methods.

Traditional conjoint methods, as well as other adaptive and choice-based methods, are used to obtain an accurate assessment of buyer preferences and willingness to pay. Now, a new type of conjoint method offers improved measurement capabilities. As implemented by Chamberlain, the Elimination Pick List provides:

  • Realistic product-on-the-shelf-like selection
  • Direct assessment of buyer consideration sets
  • Rank orders and partial-paired comparisons from choices
  • Integrated none or non-selection option
  • Reduced survey administration time

Through dynamic screen presentation and refreshment, the Elimination Pick List allows the researcher to obtain more complete choice and rank-order data from a product choice task, while placing little additional burden on research participants.
